When it comes to planning a wedding, the wedding reception is undoubtedly the second most anticipated moment of the entire day. The reception dinner is an integral part of this celebration, and when it comes to creating a memorable reception, delicious food takes centre stage. At Aberfeldy Barn, a picturesque venue in Westbrook, QLD, the wedding reception dinner of Chris and Christine (affectionately dubbed 'The Chris's') was nothing short of delicious.
The evening began with a burst of colours and flavours as guests were greeted by a lavish grazing table. This vibrant display was a feast for the eyes and the taste buds, featuring an array of cured meats, cheeses, pickled vegetables, fresh fruits, crackers, and crispbreads. This grazing table was made even more exceptional because we made it entirely gluten-free, ensuring that all of the bride and groom's guests could enjoy every delectable bite without worry.
The main meal of the evening was the buffet dinner, featuring tender roast meats including succulent cuts of beef and roast chicken. Paired with perfectly roasted vegetables, we filled the guests plates with an abundance of flavour and heartiness.
Alongside the meats and vegetables, we served a creamy, cheesy broccoli and cauliflower gratin, with an array of fresh salads. Soft, warm bread rolls were served with the main course, and our unique Dark Apple Sauce and Australian Bush Relish on the side.
What made this wedding reception dinner truly remarkable was our commitment to making it entirely gluten-free. The thoughtful inclusion by the bride and groom of gluten-free options meant that every guest, regardless of dietary restrictions, could join in the celebration without any concerns.
No wedding reception is complete without a sweet ending, and this celebration was no exception. The bride herself had lovingly created a multi-layered wedding cake, featuring a decadent chocolate raspberry layer, a sumptuous Ferrero Rocher layer, and a moist carrot cake layer. To top it off, Chef Adam and our team took over, expertly cutting and plating the cake for the guests. The chocolate and Ferrero Rocher layers were served with a drizzle of berry coulis and a dollop of fresh cream. The carrot cake layer was paired with a marmalade glaze and a creamy finish.
